One of the many cutting edge things about Recover and Recharge are their use of phytonutrient extracts. In Recover, you’ll find pomegranate extract rich in ellagatanins—also known as “the recovery phytonutrient”, having been compared to non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NAIADS) like ibuprofen for alleviating exercise-induced pain, muscle soreness, stiffness, and overall inflammation. In Recharge, you’ll find tart cherry extract, in which the anthocyanin have also been shown to combat exercise-induced inflammation.
But here’s the problem: While these supplements may be highly effective, you can’t taste the fruit!
Say no more. The culinary whiz kids in the Beachbody test kitchens have whipped up this great, pomegranate and tart cherry Shakeology recipe to give you a taste of the good stuff. Although they used chocolate here, feel free to substitute your favorite flavor.
Just keep in mind, the juice in these recipes isn’t necessarily at the levels found in the clinical studies linked to above, so it might not have the same effects. But it’s still plenty good for you!
