Anita Doucet lost 24 lbs. in 63 days with 21 Day Fix. Here’s the story that she shared with the Beachbody Challenge contest.
Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
My life before I started this program was up and down. I felt lazy, uncomfortable, had no energy, and did not want to do anything. I never wanted to crawl around the floor to play with my kids or go outside and play. I just wanted to stay on the couch and be lazy, because I felt like crap. I had two C-sections, and I absolutely hated my stomach.3 I felt like I was never going to look how a 25-year-old should look again. I felt old. I had kids young, and I was so jealous of the other moms who bounced back instantly. I used to be super active and social. I was a whole new person when I put on the weight, and I was extremely depressed. It was ruining my relationship, and I was not present for my kids. I never wanted to go out. I hated working because I felt gross, and I always felt like people were staring at me. I would go into a store and love all these clothes that I could never fit in. It was depressing because I had to dress much older and in frumpy, ugly clothes because that was all that fit.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
My children are my inspiration. I want to show them how to be healthy and happy. I want to be their role model. I want them to live a long, healthy life, and if I was not healthy, they would follow in my footsteps. I know my husband and I both struggle with weight. I do not want them to follow in our footsteps. I want them to see being healthy is the way to be. I felt guilty sitting on the couch when I should be playing with my kids. It just hurt to be on the floor for long periods. I was so sick of being tired and not present for my children. Now that I am a Coach, I am more accountable and I am pushing harder so I can inspire others to keep going and not give up. I want to show them what they can do if they stay determined. It inspires me to know that I am helping others.
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
My greatest challenge was getting the money to sign up. I looked at it this way: stop spending $6 bucks a day on Tim Hortons and junk, and I will be able to afford it… and guess what? I am saving money now! I work 12-hour shifts in a bar, so it was challenging to get all my containers and workouts in. I have learned a lot, and I have made it work.
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I started off with the 21 Day Fix in January, I did three full rounds and absolutely loved it. I love my portion-control container system. It is so easy to follow, and the workouts are enjoyable! I love how it’s 30 minutes and done! I sweat a lot during my workouts and I feel so good after.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I feel so strong and so much lighter! I am shocked with my achievements. I can finally do side planks, planks, and a few normal push-ups. I am almost able to do the entire program without the modifications. I am finally starting to fit into pre-pregnancy jeans, and I am comfortable with wearing tank tops out. What makes me proud is the fact that I am inspiring others to change. I shared my story and received such a huge following, with people telling me I am motivating them to keep going. To know that I even helped one person, it will keep me motivated to keep going.
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
My life has changed since completing my programs significantly! My energy levels were so low, I never wanted to do anything at all! Since drinking Shakeology and changing my eating habits, my energy is through the roof!2 I love going out, having fun, being social, and playing with my children. I do not feel like crap when I go out in public. I am excited to try new clothes on, and I absolutely love working out again. I missed being active. I was super active before having children, and I am so happy to get my spark back!
How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
I was a co-Coach in the group so I knew I had to motivate and practice what I was preaching. If I cheated myself, I was also cheating them! I made sure I posted a few times daily, and found new recipes and tips to share with the group. When my challengers did extra work, it motivated me to do extra! I loved seeing others progress. The group was very uplifting, and I loved seeing everyone enjoying themselves.
How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
Sarah has been there every step of the way. She messages me multiple times a day to see how I am doing. She is always motivating me and inspiring me. She is my go-to if I feel like I need a cheat. She always knows what to say, and how to help me. If it was not for Sarah, I don’t think I would be as successful.
How did a Beachbody supplement, nutritional product, or program (such as Shakeology or Beachbody Ultimate Reset) support your transformation? What are the greatest benefits you gained? Did you see benefits to your energy, sleep, mood/mental clarity, or digestion/regularity?
I have been using Shakeology, and I absolutely love it. I feel fantastic, less bloated, more energized, and less moody. I can tell that it has a lot to do with how I feel in a day. My body craves Shakeology and all the amazing nutrients it offers. I also completed the 3-Day Refresh! I could not believe my eyes. In just three short days, I lost that much weight and bloat. It was tough, but I am so happy I did it. The plan itself was super easy to follow. It was more of a mind game to complete it.
